Brothers, it is a dark day for Christendom. We reside in a new world, ruled by science and technology, eroding the people's Faith in Christ. We reside in a dark world, ruled by violence, poverty, and disease, as people ignore God, and He punishes them. Yet how can we reclaim the souls of the world, when the Pontiff today befriends infidels and worshipers of the false god, which even today false myths hold is one and the same as Jehovah.

If we are to protect the souls of the world, and truly do God's work, the Lucifer in the Holy See must be stopped. This snake in a vicar's clothing represents not the will of God, but of Satan, and failure to stop him from strangling Christendom will see the death of faith and the triumph of Lucifer over this Earth.

I invite you all to Salamanca, to discuss what must be done. It is not the first time that Catholicism must fight a devil within, but it may be the last.

To the Cardinals and Any Whom it May Concern,

His Holiness is aware that you have been invited to a conference by a Lusitanian Cardinal. You will not be attending. All those who attend this conference, or express their support for it, will be stripped of their position. Any who His Holiness considers a 'ringleader' will be excommunicated.

As for Cardinal Santos Montoya, he has 24 hours to denounce this heresy and return to the fold. Otherwise he will be banished from the College, excommunicated and replaced with a figure not so prone to lapses of faith.

From the White Gazeta:

"The Uniatic Catholic Church has answered to the call of Cardinal Santos Montoya of the Kingdom of Lusitania, who had called for a conference and a schism against the corrupted power of the Pope .
The Uniatic Church has chosen to back the Lusitanian cardinal in his effort of reform and states that a religious leader who has a military power can't have pretensions over the rule of the souls of the earth, which are uniquely under God's reign ."

The Archbishop of Danzig along with the majority of Bishops of the Catholic Church of the Hanseatic Empire have called for the immediate secession of the Christian Church of the Hanseatic Empire from the Papal States and has shown full support for the election of a rightful pope separate from the heresy of the current Pope reigning from Rome. The Archbishop of Danzig will personally attend this meeting, although not being a Cardinal, as the highest possible representative of the Catholic Church within the peoples of the Hanseatic Empire.

Open Letter to All Catholic Cardinals Empty The Council of Salamanca: MDCCCCXXXVIII

Open Letter to All Catholic Cardinals Salamanca-photos-0001a

The clouds themselves wept at the state of the Catholic church, as the beginning of the Council of Salamanca drew nearer. Most ranking clergymen in Lusitania had already arrived at the New Cathedral, within which the meeting would be held. Regular mass would continue in the adjacent cathedral every Sunday.

Lodging had been provided for by the King himself, although the man was hesitant to support the move for political reasons. Montaya shook his head when he had heard this, as this was truly a tragedy of faith in the Imperial family, to fear man over God. However, he had heard that if a new pope was chosen at Salamanca, he was prepared to officially recognize the Salamancan Papacy over the Roman heretic.

A delegation had just arrived, he was told, from the Russian Empire. He welcomed the news, not even the thought of excommunication ruining his good spirits. God had chosen him for this, he thought, and being excommunicated by Lucifer's pope was only to be expected. The Pontiff had no authority no longer. God himself had told him this in a dream. He was to be replaced.

In only a few days, on February 24, one month before the birth of the Lord, he would begin the meeting. The Hanseatic bishops would have time to arrive by then. What would happen on that fateful day, he did not yet know, he only knew it was the only chance Christendom had, lest it fall back to the Moslems. His ancestors had fought for decades to drive the Moorish invaders from Iberia, to liberate the Holy Land from Arabic infidels, and he would not have this heretical Pope welcome the deviants as moral brothers.

OOC NOTICE:
This forum uses in general and increased time system where one day in the "real world" amounts to one week IC time. The counting of this time started on November the 14th and as so the current IC date(November the 21st) is February 19-25.

OOC: Can we just pretend that time is slowed for this conference, so we can do this right?

OOC: Yes, that is a given since not everyone will be as active than others on the forum. However, you cannot hold it on the November 24th unless you plan to postpone this until some time next year. If you're going to have it now, it's going to be February ICly.

To the Dissenters,

His Holiness, with a heavy heart, is forced to strip Cardinal Santos Montoya of his position and declare him an excommunicate heretic, and an enemy of the church. Furthermore, the White Russian Cardinals and Hanseatic Archbishop of Danzig are also officially removed from their positions, although they will not be declared excommunicated unless His Holiness deems it necessary.

Furthermore, our Holy Father the Pope would like to point out the glaring inconsistencies in the arguments of the supporters of division. Firstly, the Lusitanians refuse to deal with Moslems, but are perfectly happy to befriend Orthodox and Lutheran states, which are equally separate from the Catholic community. Furthermore, the White Russians and the Hanseatic Empire have both allied with the most heinous Mohamadan empire of all- the Seljuks. The fact that you have one rule for one nation and a different rule for other nations suggests that you are all purely involved in this for political purposes, and are hence the worst kind of heathen.

To His False Holiness Pope Pius IX

It is a sad day when the leader of the Catholic Church sees no difference between religion and states, although we do not blame one of such stature of going mad with the power of leading the Papal states themselves. The Hanseatic Catholic Church has no other dealings with the Hanseatic government than the agreement of being allowed to operate freely within Hanseatic borders as the local religious connection for those who have been baptized into the Catholic faith. If His False Holiness the Pope cannot see this agreement that has had the blessings of several of your predecessors, the corruption that is Rome is far greater than any have expected. Although we no longer wish to be led by a false Pope, it does not mean we would be in any way being pressured into it by any party in the Hanseatic Empire other than the Catholics themselves. And the day when the Pope of the Catholic Church no longer respects his followers, we will see a collapse of the power in Rome. It is now obvious that this day has come.
