Ancient City of Istanbul to Accept Hanseatic Navy

(The Ancient Capital of Greater Seljuk Empire)

Istanbul, Seljuk Empire - The Greater Seljuk Empire, long time regional power in the Mediterranean, has expressed an eager desire to meet with the Hanseatic Empire beginning with their impressive Navy.

Sultan Selim VII, descendant of the great Ottoman Sultan of the same name, gives Allah's blessing to the naval armada's trip:

"The Seljuk people have always been in awe of our European counterparts, their culture, their lifestyle, and their potential. Despite our differences, we seek to better understand and reach out to one another, not only for the sake of stability in the Mediterranean, but global harmony as well." - Sultan Selim VII

Ankara, Seljuk Empire - The Holy Lands have been blessed by the grace of Muhammad's spirit as our Sultan turns 86. He will have been in power for over 40 years, serving in and remembering the terrible Great War that infiltrated our peaceful land. Through his leadership and bravery serving on the front lines, the imperialists were stopped, beaten back, and chased away from our sacred sanctuaries.

The Sultan wished to inform his people that he would continue to rule for as long as he could, and that he would never cease to represent them to the infidels of the world. On a lighter note, the Sultan was rather excited to personally greet the Hanseatic Empire's mighty navy which is expected to reach the capital of Istanbul in the coming weeks.

Hanseatic Navy Arrives

Istanbul, Seljuk Empire - The Hanseatic Navy recently arrived in the port city of Istanbul, also the capital of our glorious empire. The surrounding regions of the Mediterranean have expressed mixed feelings about the presence of Europeans, especially considering the blood shed inflicted due to the Great War that plagued all of Euro-Asia. However, the Seljuk people are more than willing to attempt good will towards any and all nations, giving them a clean slate, which includes the Hanseatic nation.

The soldiers aboard the naval armada would find the flourishing city recently-known-as-Constantinople-but-renamed-as-Istanbul, full of women, casinos, and entertainment beyond their wildest imaginations. Many people around the globe are still finding difficulty in the name change, but the Sultan assures everyone it will become easier in time and that the heart of the city is the same. It is this heart that welcomes the Hanseatic Empire, asking them to partake in what the ancient city has to offer.

Old Rivalries Rekindled

Istanbul, Seljuk Empire - The Papal States, long an advocate against the Seljuk influence and rival for the Balkans, has recently spoken ill of the Greater Seljuk Empire. His Royal Magnificence Sultan Selim VII has expressed a deep disappointment in the choice of words from the Pope himself, calling them "ignorant and out of touch with today's Seljuk Empire".

Potential Alliance in the Works?

Istanbul, Seljuk Empire
- Following the recent verbal lashing from the Papal States and international tension concerning the Suez Canal, the Sultan has discussed the possibility of an alliance with the Hanseatic Empire. "An alliance has been proposed before, but until recently there was not much incentive to seriously consider the option. In the days to come, the Seljuk Empire would be willing to meet and discuss a possible solution with the Hanseatic Empire."

Seljuk Borders to Be Protected!

Istanbul, Seljuk Empire - His Highness Sultan Selim VII was appalled by recent remarks from the Papal States, claiming much of these so-called facts presented to the Cardinals were, at most, propaganda and just a further example of prejudice against the Turkish people. In direct response to such outlandish words, the Seljuk borders, which are very close to the Papal state, have been fortified with security forces to prevent suspected foreign agents from infiltrating the Holy Lands.

Other News
- Communist Party flocks to join the COMIntern, despite protests.
- Askari Compact continues to be an influential broker in international affairs.
